Nyuyuni

The world has changed since September 11, 2001. Many are taking a second look at Christianity in the light of recent world events. While over 70 per cent of our Australian population call themselves Christian, many have an unclear and fading memory of what they say they believe in. Many do not know how to reconnect with the church.

The Awakening movement believe this is a strategic moment in time.

Fusion are encouraging all who have been part of the Awakening family to take next steps in the Aussie Awakening turning their ad-hoc committees into small clearly focused inter-church mission fellowships. They are encouraged to meet regularly for prayer, and to work systematically to understand the needs and opportunities of their local regions. Also to join with an interstate fellowship that networks throughout the whole of our nation to see the nation reached, and its young people given hope.

We are calling these Nyuyuni Outreach Fellowships.

"Nyuyuni" comes from the Pitjantjantjarra word which carries the images of the logs of an overnight fire being pushed together and gently blown on until the flame is re-ignited.

Australia has 350 regions. You are invited to pray and work together with others to see the development of the Nyuyuni inter-church mission process in each and every one of these regions.

Time and time again as local communities have celebrations and festivals it has become normal for our Awakening and Nyuyuni people to be invited to play a significant role.
